COVID-19 and skate like a girl programming

As the Coronavirus continues to affect our community, we would like to update you on what Skate Like a Girl is doing in response.

Skate Like a Girl will not be running any programming until April 10th or later. This current suspension of activities does not affect our plans for Summer 2020, including hiring and registration. As things develop, we will make future announcements regarding our organization’s activities.

We believe that we are a Skate Like A Girl community, even when we are not able to meet in person. In the coming days, we will be working on creating ways for our community to connect at a distance. Please follow us on Instagram (@skatelikeagirl, @skatelikeagirlpdx) as we’ll be posting ways to stay engaged and connected there!

We know that many of you who are signed up for our fee-based programming will have questions about refunds, and we’ll include information about all that below.

We wish our community the best through this disorienting time. We appreciate your understanding!

With Love,

Terence Stilin-Rooney

Portland Chapter Director

Skate Like a Girl

Any participants that are currently registered for an upcoming fee-based program are entitled to a full program credit or cash refund (minus any related processing fees). Please reach out to your local Skate Like a Girl chapter to claim your refund or program credit.

The reason that we are not distributing refunds automatically is that we know from working closely with our communities, it is best to do this on an individual basis. Some people will prefer to receive Skate Like a Girl program credit and/or the numbers we have on file won’t work when we try to refund due to expirations, etc. We are committed to fully refunding all money as soon as possible and will be doing this in as timely a fashion as possible. If you need your refund right away please let us know, otherwise, we appreciate your patience as we work through these changes!

We are a registered 501(3)(c) charitable organization empowering women and girls through creative means, namely, skateboarding

Send us a message and we will get back to you ASAP! Your voice matters to us.
