The Youth Employment Skateboarding (YES) program provides young people who are passionate about skateboarding with the opportunity to build their leadership skills, earn service hours, gain work experience, and make a positive impact on their community. The YES Program was started by our Seattle chapter in 2011 and we are very excited to have brought the program to Portland during Winter 2015.

Our YES Program participants help coordinate our clinics, summer camps, Ladies' Nights, fundraising events, and more. In addition to peer coaching opportunities, we hold various events for our participants throughout each session including career panels, leadership trainings, and private skate sessions.  Our YES coaches who have completed the required number of volunteer hours by the end of the session will get to go on a special end of session skateboard trip. This session, our kids will be spending a weekend at Windells Skateboard Camp.

Applications for our Spring/Summer 2017 YES Program are now open and will be accepted until April 30th, 2017. The Spring/Summer 2017 session runs from April through August. The end of session reward trip will likely take place at the end of August.
